What you can expect from this 3 day Hwange Safari tour:
This African safari tour starts in Victoria Falls and travels through Zimbabwe to Hwange National Park, finishing back in Victoria Falls. You will partake in morning and afternoon game drives at Hwange National Park.
Hwange is Zimbabwe's oldest and biggest national park, home to 400 bird species and 107 species of game including the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino). On your last day you can enjoy couple game drives before heading back to Victoria Falls where your African safari tour ends.
Please note: This trip departs Victoria Falls daily, early morning. Should you wish to spend extra time there, an earlier arrival should be planned and additional accommodation booked through Siyabona Africa Travel.

Day 1: Victoria Falls - Hwange National Park, ZimbabweDepart from Victoria Falls at 9:30am to begin your African safari tour. Your journey takes you through Teak and Mopane Forests, local villages and Hwange Town, famous for it's coal mining. You will enter Hwange National Park through Main camp and depending on the time of year and location of the animals your guide will select one of the many camps in and around Main Camp for your campsite.
An afternoon game drive follows setting camp. Hwange is Zimbabwe's oldest and biggest national park, home to 400 bird species and 107 species of game including the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino). Lunch and dinner is included. |
Day 2: Hwange National Park, ZimbabweToday your Zimbabwe safari tour starts with an early morning game drive. Hwange has a diverse landscape from open grassland to Kalahari sand in the Southern area of the Park to more hilly heavily wooded area in the northern area of the Park.
Your day will be spend game driving throughout the Park stopping at the many man made pump pans where game concentrate to slack there thirst. Some pans have viewing platforms were you can stretch your legs and enjoy viewing the game at your leisure. Your second night of your African safari tour will be spent in the northern area of the park named Sinamatella. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included. |
Day 3: Hwange National Park - Victoria FallsSinamatella Camp sits atop a cliff overlooking an open Vlei area, an ideal area to view game while on your African safari tour. The area has both Black and White Rhino; your morning game drive will concentrate on trying to find these elusive animals.
The area also has good concentrations of game. After your game drive you will make your way back to Victoria Falls arriving back mid-afternoon. Breakfast will be served. |

Big Five
|
The 'Big Five' animals of Africa are elephant, rhino, leopard, lion and buffalo. They are so called not because of their size, but because they are the most dangerous of all animals to hunt. Each pursues its attacker with intent to kill.

Mopane Trees
|
Some Mopane trees can attain a height of up to 25 m, especially on alluvial soils. When conditions are less favourable, small Mopane shrubs known as 'Mopane scrub' and locally referred to as 'gumane', are more evident.
